Bremen boss eager to offer Pizarro, Frings deals

Werder Bremen boss Klaus Allofs has said he is eager to extend the current contract of Peru striker Claudio Pizarro and offer former German star Torsten Frings a role as a future coach.

Pizarro recently passed the mark of 150 goals scored in the German league.

The 33-year-old has already netted 11 goals in 11 Bundesliga games this season and has a contract until June, with the option of an extra year.

"We want him to stay. He knows what he has done for Bremen," Bremen's chief executive officer Allofs told German television channel Sport1.

"Something unusual will have to happen for him to leave Werder."

Frings, who turns 35 on November 22, is the current captain of Canadian Major League Soccer side Toronto FC, but has become involved in helping coach Bremen's youth team with the North American season now over.

"Is is 99 percent set that Torsten Frings will pursue his career as a coach at Werder Bremen after his time in Toronto," said Allofs.
