Ten of Sporting beat Lazio

europa league live Team Sportng (Lisbon) continues its successful performance in group "D" of the Europa League after beating Lazio 2-1.

Ricky Van Volfsvinkel brought the hosts ahead in the 21st minute, but Miroslav Klose equalized in the 40 th. In the 45th, however, Emiliano Insula stuck a second goal for Portugal, which was defeated.

Lazio had plenty of chances to turn the score around in the second session but they were unable to score any more goals, despite Sporting having just 10 men for the entirety of the half following Insua's red card.

And Edy Reja believes Lazio deserved at least one point from their trip to Portugal, telling Mediaset Premium: "We had a very good start, we created many chances with our attacks.

"We wasted many chances, there was even a clear penalty in the closing stages which the referee did not signal.

"We at least deserved a draw for what was seen on the pitch."

The 65-year-old coach criticised the team's poor attitude, which in his opinion prevented his side from winning the match.

"Our players did not believe they could win, the atmosphere in the dressing room was completely dispirited," he noted.

Lazio are third in the Europa League Group D, with just one point from two games, while Sporting Lisbon are at the summit of the table, on six points.
