Even if both teams failed to score on the "Giuseppe Meazza" for the final 0-0. This result was not desired by any of both teams, but the hosts can be a little more disapointed because they had more chances for goal in the meeting.

As in the midweek defeat to Trabzonspor, Inter coach Gian Piero Gasperini heard boos echoing around the stadium and was left still waiting for his first win in charge after four attempts.

"I saw a good Inter that created plenty of chances," Gasperini told Sky Sport Italia. "We played against a great team that conceded very little in terms of space.

"Two nights ago we played in a hard-fought match (against Trabzonspor that Inter lost 1-0), but tonight we have seen an improvement in our display."

Gasperini then analysed the performances of the personnel on show and admitted that the displays of several key Inter players were not up to their high standards.

"The first part of the match saw Yuto Nagatomo get into great spaces for us, but then we had to raise our defensive game and stifle Daniele De Rossi," he explained.

"Forlan did a lot but Diego Milito did not offer much. I introduced Sulley Muntari because I felt we needed another midfielder, as Sneijder was bright but he struggled in the middle.

"After I made those changes, we had the best opportunities, and even though we didn't score, let's treat this match as a positive.”

Inter now place themselves in 13th place after picking up their first point of the season.

Roma boss Luis Enrique, on the other hand, will know that what would normally be regarded as a good point in Milan does little to help his own cause.

There was also a worrying injury for Roma goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg, who was taken to hospital after receiving a boot to the head from Inter defender Lucio and was reported to have briefly lost consciousness.
