'Bundesliga is the strongest league in Europe,' says Hamburg's Frank Arnesen

The German Bundesliga is better than England's Premier League, Spain's La Liga and Italy's Serie A, according to Hamburg director of sport Frank Arnesen. His assessment is based on attendance from fans and the league's unpredictability, and he believes Germany's top-flight cannot be compared to any other league he continent.

"If you consider all aspects, the Bundesliga is the strongest league in Europe," Arnesen told Bild. "If you see how many people come to each game, it is fantastic. "Here [in Germany], anyone can beat anyone else. The Bundesliga is so unique. I am very glad that I have the privilege of working here."Hamburg are floating precariously above the relegation zone and are currently 16th in the table on goal difference. However, Arnesen has seen signs of encouragement from the players as he retains hope for the rest of the season."It remains difficult to get out of the bottom of the table, even though I have seen a clear upward trend from the team in recent weeks," he added. "There is still a difficult season ahead of us. We must do everything to ensure that we avoid the drop."Hamburg welcome Hoffenheim in the league next Sunday. Kick-off is at 17.30CET.
