City go to Top of the Table

premier league liveManchester City kept up their 100% record in the Premier League to go top of the table having reached the 3-2 away to Bolton.

The hosts had begun brightly but City gradually took control and in the 26th minute they took the lead when David Silva's dipping shot somehow found a way past Jussi Jaaskelainen.

The Finn could do nothing about the visitors' second eight minutes before the break as Gareth Barry let fly from 25 yards, but Wanderers responded almost immediately, Ivan Klasnic turning in a cross from Martin Petrov brilliantly six minutes before half-time.

What Bolton needed was a good start to the second half but they got exactly the opposite as Edin Dzeko seized on a flick from James Milner before holding off Zat Knight and drilling a shot past Jaaskelainen less than two minutes after the break.

However, just when it was beginning to look like a case of how many City would score, Bolton found the net again courtesy of a trademark Kevin Davies header from Martin Petrov's free-kick in the 62nd minute.

Bolton continued to push for an equaliser, but the introduction of Carlos Tevez for Sergio Aguero kept them busy at the back and Roberto Mancini's men held on for the win.
