Juventus to begin Serie A campaign against Udinese

Juventus' pursuit of a fifth straight Serie A title begins at home to Udinese in late August.

While Massimiliano Allegri's men were drawn against the team also referred to as Bianconeri on the opening weekend of the new season, expected challengers Roma were sent to Hellas Verona.

AC Milan face a daunting trip to Fiorentina and city rivals Inter tackle Atalanta at San Siro.

Further key first-round ties to emerge at Monday's official unveiling of the 2015-16 fixture calendar involved the newly-promoted clubs, with Carpi taking in a first ever top-flight game at Sampdoria.

Southern outfit Frosinone -- the Serie B runners-up -- entertain Torino and playoff final winners Bologna travel to the capital to face Lazio.

Napoli begin life after coach Rafael Benitez with a journey north to Sassuolo, Empoli host Chievo and Genoa cross the Tyrrhenian Sea to confront Palermo, thus completing the curtain-raising schedule.

The fledgling campaign will heat up in only its second week as Rudi Garcia and Roma look to strike an early blow against Juve, the club who have beaten them to the Scudetto in both 2014 and 2015.

"It's a stimulating start with a big match very early indeed!" wrote Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri in his immediate reaction via Twitter. "Now we're working to be ready for [the Supercoppa in] Shanghai and then we'll think about Udinese and Roma."

The Serie A campaign starts on August 22 with the final round of matches taking place on May 15.

Milan is treated to its first Derby della Madonnina in the third round with Roberto Mancini's Inter assuming the role of nominated home team against Sinisa Mihajlovic and his Rossoneri.

A grudge match between Napoli and Juve at Stadio San Paolo is pencilled in for the sixth weekend, and the Old Lady subsequently visit their Derby d'Italia rivals Inter in the middle of October.
